Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace is most well known for housing the court of Henry VIII and his many wives.

Check out those statues guarding the gate outside!

This was my favorite of all the guard animals.

So King William would get ready for bed
in this room with a big fancy bed, so
that the most privileged of the court could be
present and then ...

... He would go sleep in the little bedroom.

Another lion!

Seal's Corner: Adventures of Desk Moose - Kensington Palace

Orc!
The next stop on the trip was to Kensington Palace. This palace was the home of many Kings and Queens including Queen Victoria.
Cute Moose, but it is safe to say it is I, Seal
who belongs on a throne :)

This picture was taken in the drawing room where the king
would play cards. Moose got a pretty good hand.

This pillow was an embroidered portrait of Queen Anne.
Who would be cuter embroidered on a throw pillow: Me (Seal)
or Desk Moose?

Christmas Buttons

Whose going to enforce the party
 hats this year?

And some really creepy Christmas bears in the mall:

Kensington Palace

Our first stop last weekend was Kensington Palace, the home of Queen Victoria as well as George I and II and the last of the Stuarts: King William and Mary II.

The guards were blocking of certain parts of the palace.

Queen Victoria had a fondness for dressing her dog up in humans clothing and then drawing sketches of him before changing him back out. How does Dottie feel about this idea?

Seal's Corner: The Adventures of Desk Moose - In London

Orc!

It is me again, Seal. Last weekend Allie went to London to celebrate her birthday. I was unsure how squishy the pillows would be in her hotel room, so I stayed back in Norwich, but I sent my trusty field correspondent Desk Moose to take some exciting pictures to share with you all.
The trip included a stop at Hummingbird Bakery, one of the best known places in London to get American style cupcakes. Mmmm, they were even nice enough to bring me home some leftovers. Cupcakes here tend to be teacakes with icing instead of tasty mini cakes with lots of frosting, so I was excited to dig in.
Desk Moose also went for a ride on the London Underground, or the Tube. This underground train station is the fastest way to get around London. This first underground rail lines in the city date back to 1863.
Just make sure you have a ticket! An Underground ticket agent stopped by right after Moose took this picture and asked to see his ticket! :)

There will be more exciting adventures to come in my next two posts! Stay tuned for:

London

Went to London last weekend to celebrate my 25th birthday. We spent Friday at Kensington Palace and Saturday at Hampton Court (Photos coming in two later posts). We also stopped by Harrods and Covent Garden to check out the Christmas decorations.
Had a chat with Big Bird in Harrods.
Friday night we had dinner in the same restaurant that Dad and I celebrated my 20th birthday in back on 2007.
I found another lion.

Christmas decorations are already going up. This guy
was outside Covent Garden.
