Here are some pictures from the gardens at Anglesey Abbey. They are supposed to be some of the prettiest winter gardens around, which is good cause when we went there on Easter weekend it was freezing.

Here are some more pictures from the Natural History Museum. For those of you back in Wisconsin, the Field Museum in Chicago has a great collection too, and is a little less of a commute.

Anglesey Abbey

We visited this house outside Cambridge the day before Easter. The house was beautiful and the gardens were full of little kids hunting Easter eggs :) These pictures are from in and around the house itself. Two more blog posts will follow: one with garden pictures and the other with photos from the watermill.

The last occupants of this house liked their animal sculptures.

Okay, these things are kind of awesome. They are radiators
for heating a room but they are designed for drying your
towels as well.

This guys had closet space my sister would envy.

The house was filled with many royal portraits,
particularly from the Tudor line. This one is of
Lady Jane Grey, who was in line for the thrown
after Henry VIII's daughters Mary I and Elizabeth I.
I will finish her stories when I show pictures
from the Tower of London later this summer.

We saw many copies of Ian Fleming's "You only live twice".
The book was published in 1964 and the last resident  of this
house died in 1966. So, either this was his favourite book in
his last couple of years, or some of these books are just in
the house for show.
